What is a clinical perfusionist?

Perfusionist also known as a Clinical Perfusionist or a Cardiovascular
A perfusionist, also known as a clinical perfusionist or a cardiovascular perfusionist, is a specialized healthcare professional who uses the heart-lung machine during cardiac surgery and other surgeries that require cardiopulmonary bypass to manage the patient's physiological status.
Certification in Clinical Perfusion is attained by satisfactory performance on the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification examination.
Cardiovascular Perfusion Program at The Michener Institute: focused on supporting the normal functions of the heart and lungs during open-heart surgery.
